The website "Voices in the Dark" is a source for audio recordings of classic novels, legends, poems, and essays. Audiobooks are usually short and come with accompanying text transcripts.

Phonogram Page  –   The Phonogram Page is designed to promote mastery of the 70 common phonograms of the English language. Students can hear these phonograms and practise saying them.

Western/Pacific Literacy Network/CNN SF Learning Resources - For each story a transcript, a sound file in RealAudio, a video file with sound, as well as the following are provided:

• Story: Intended for adults with moderate reading and speaking comprehension skills including advanced ESL or non-native English speakers.
• Abridged Story: Modification of original story text by simplifying complex ideas and sentences. Intended for adults with low reading comprehension skills including beginning ESL or non-native English speakers.
• Story Outline: Outline summary of basic edited story elements.
