A. Pick a 5 minute video segment. Show it with sound off and have the students make up the dialogue from several vantage points - one group of aliens, one group of gangsters, one group of law enforcers, one group of party hounds, etc. Students read their new dialogues to fit in with what's on screen - then show what was there originally.
B. The teacher looks up 5 weird words in the dictionary and kids guess what they might mean - then pass out the dictionaries and have students look up the meaning. This works best when there could be several meanings to the word, like "piece" for example, but other works in a real sentence or use all 5 words in the same sentence, etc.
