Teacher's Notes

Activity

The students will produce a newspaper including the layout.

Learning Outcomes

The student will be required to:

1. write texts with the purpose of informing or entertaining;
2. use a common but precise vocabulary;
3. use accurate sentence structures and punctuation;
4. use proper grammar and spelling.

Technological skills

The student will be required to:

1. use a word processor;
2. use a scanner and a photocopier;
3. use a camera/digital camera.

Learning Scenario

1. - The students will become familiar with the different components of a newspaper and will create a newspaper for their school.

Criteria for Evaluation

1. Communication
   • organizing of information;
   • pertinence of the content;
   • efficient use of technological resources.
2. Language
   • use correct sentence structures;
   • employ precise vocabulary
   • use correct spelling and grammar
   • use proper punctuation

The self evaluation may be completed in one of two ways:
