Kim Fordham is Associate Professor of German and Director of the Canadian Summer School in Germany at Augustana Faculty, Univeristy of Alberta. Kim teaches language, literature and women's studies courses. She has presented workshops on drama pedagogy and foreign language instruction at national and provincial conferences.

Target Audience: secondary and/or post-secondary language teachers
Session Description: This workshop will actively involve participants in the methods of drama pedagogy. You will experience the value of pantomime, statue and structured improvisation as learning techniques. You will learn the components of a drama pedagogy action plan as well as how to embed the drama sequence within a larger learning context. Drama pedagogy fosters the ability of the students to react quickly and spontaneously in the second language and to engage the language with imagination.
Preferred Length of Time: minimum 1.5 hours
